PUSD Strategic Plan

The final Strategic Plan report is now available online:

More than 800 parents, students, faith-based leaders, members of community organizations, business representatives and other stakeholders participated in focus group and forum discussions to develop a vision of the future for PUSD students and schools. Community input will be utilized by the Steering Committee to develop recommendations for the Board of Education.

On April 27, the Board of Education approved the Strategic Plan Steering Committee and Strategic Plan report and directed staff to come back with an implementation plan and schedule. The report includes a summary of community input into the ideal PUSD graduate, as well as community ideas for school improvement. The report also makes recommendations for revisions to the Strategic Plan framework, implementation of the Strategic Plan, and communication strategies to ensure ongoing outreach and involvement of parents, students, staff, and community members.

Check this site regularly to learn how you can continue the conversation as we move to make the Strategic Plan a reality in our schools.

Planning for the Future

The Pasadena Unified Board of Education is revising the district's Strategic Plan to develop a ten-year vision that builds on our schools' accomplishments, sets goals for future achievement, and reflects the perspectives of PUSD's diverse community. Over the past two years, the District's Approach to Excellence initiatives have identified specific areas for urgent reform, while laying a solid foundation for long-term success. The strategic plan process will update the District's vision, mission, and goals and incorporate them into the current direction and priorities.
